Locally Owned from the Very Beginning
November 3, 1980: Community State Bank opened its doors for business to meet the needs of the people of Galva and surrounding communities. Organized by local businessmen, the Bank started with $1 million in stock that was sold to 240 local investors.
July 29, 1996: Moving out of a temporary facility it occupied for 15 years, the Bank opened its permanent full-service facility in Galva.
June 30, 1997: CSB opened a temporary office in Kewanee.
January 2001: CSB acquired Cromien Insurance in Galva and the Bank began offering its customers a full line of competitive insurance products under the Community State Bank Insurance Services name.
February 2001: CSB opened its first permanent facility in Kewanee in a remodeled commercial property on Tenney Street.
June 2003: CSB began offering customers investment services.
September 2004: CSB acquired Whaples and Farmers State Bank in Neponset.
October 2006: CSB acquired Citizens National Bank in Galva.
June 2007: CSB opened its newly constructed second office in Kewanee at 300 North Main Street, making it the only bank offering lobby banking, drive through services, and drive-up ATMs on both the north and south ends of the city.
August 7, 2015: CSB acquired Franklin Bank in Franklin, Illinois, growing from $147.15 million in assets to $200 million in assets.
